Pesticide/Herbicide Application Notifications

Walla Walla Public School District uses an ATV to apply both fertilizer and pesticides.  We apply as much as possible during after school hours when children are not present.  Signs must be posted for at least 24 hours after application. The pre-notification requirements do not apply if the application is made to a school that is not occupied by students for at least two consecutive days after application, or to any emergency applications for controlling any pest that poses an injury, health, or safety threat, such as an application to control stinging insects. However, 48 hour notification will be made as soon as possible following an emergency application. WWPS Pesticide Policy and Procedures

Recycling

Did you know you can donate your home recycling to Walla Walla Public Schools? When you drop off your items at the recycling center, just indicate the proceeds should go to the Walla Walla Public Schools' account. It's that easy!

We recycle: cardboard, paper, plastic, and aluminum cans. In April 2005, due to concerns about mercury in our landfill, we began recycling all types of batteries and light bulbs as well. Please contact your head custodian about recycling batteries in your school or building.
