Print Services Overview

The Print Services is located at 1174 Entley Street (off 13 Avenue, and behind the bus barn) and is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Print Services telephone number is 509-527-3014.

Print Services

Approximately seven million pieces of paper pass through Walla Walla Public Schools Print Services equipment each year. Print Services staff use an offset press and high speed copy machines as the primary method of reproduction. Duplication of original prints, booklet making, folding, and drilling are the Print Shop’s primary functions. Services are limited to in-house equipment. Some types of binding (comb, etc.), laminating, and other finishing services ARE NOT available from Print Services. Customers requesting services not available at Print Services will be notified to determine if their job should be sent to an outside vendor (AT THEIR EXPENSE) for production. Print Services staff will provide complimentary cost estimates for services not available from Print Services.

Printing Requests

All printing requests must be submitted with an online request and a PDF original.

Print requests may be made at WWPS.webdeskprint.com (First time users will need to register using a WWPS email.)

Incomplete request forms or poor quality originals are subject to return, and thus delay job turnaround time.

Due to large volumes of requests received, Print Services staff encourage five to ten days lead time, however most jobs are returned within two to three days. To better serve our customers, requests submitted without five days lead time will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine turnaround time. Large quantity or specialty printing requests may require additional time. Classroom materials, parental communications and administrative forms will receive the highest priority. Personal and logo notepads, business cards, bookmarks and other materials and/or services may be deferred if circumstances warrant. Printing orders are delivered to customers on regular freight delivery days.

PLEASE NOTE! The last three weeks of the school year and the first two months of the new school year are particularly high volume printing times. Printing requests submitted during these periods may require more lead time. Print Services personnel strive for the quickest turnaround possible! Help them out by submitting order requests as soon as possible.

Proof Reading

Print Services staff are not responsible for “proofing” materials submitted for printing. Reprinting, as a result of proofing errors, is expensive and creates delays. Please proof all materials prior to submitting for production.

Copyright & Other Restrictions

The copyright law of the United States governs the making of reproductions or photocopies of copyrighted material. Copyright legislation is intended to provide incentive and to protect the financial interests of creative individuals by prohibiting others from copying or otherwise misusing their works. If found guilty of willfully infringing a copyright for private or commercial financial gain, the penalty could be $10,000 or imprisonment for up to one year or both. Even when the motive for a violation is altruistic (for example, providing materials for students while saving taxpayer dollars), such noncompliance not only endangers the educational enterprise, but undermines the image commonly referred to in education laws as “teacher as exemplar.”

Take a Close Look

Please keep in mind that stickers, greeting cards, coloring books, Disney products, cartoons from magazines and the newspaper, and magazine articles are copyrighted materials and must have written authorized approval to reproduce.

Right to Refuse

Walla Walla Public Schools Print Services staff members reserve the right to refuse to accept a printing request if, in their judgement, fulfillment of the request would involve violation of the copyright law. Print Services staff will print copyright material only if the requestor can provide written permission to use the copyrighted material(s).

PRINT SERVICES STAFF WILL NOT PRINT ANY MATERIAL(S) OF A RELIGIOUS OR POLITICAL NATURE.

Tips to Print Shop Success

  • The preferred method of submitting an original is to make it into a PDF. If you make your document into a PDF and it does not format correctly, make changes to your original until the PDF formats correctly.
  • If submitting paper originals with an electronic request,
    • DO NOT STAPLE.
    • Provide camera ready original. PROOF WORK!
    • Use laser/ink jet printer (no pencil or colored pencil work).
    • Submit two, single-sided originals for two-sided requests.
    • Note: If you need a 5 x 8” file card printed you must provide two images or a “two-up” original
  • Turn in requests as soon as possible - at least 5 days in advance!
  • PHOTOGRAPHS DO NOT REPRODUCE WELL ON COPY MACHINES!
