Diversifying our workforce is a top priority in Walla Walla Public Schools. Through recruitment, retention and "growing our own" strategies, we actively seek out candidates to be part of a diverse faculty that represent the demographics, as well as serve, our students and families. Such efforts are aggressive, on-going and clearly articulated in our Equity Commitments.
"Growing Our Own" Workforce Diversity Strategies
"Grow our Own" Future Teacher Scholarships for Graduating Bilingual Students:
This scholarship aims to assist bilingual high school seniors who desire to become certificated employees and return to work for Walla Walla Public Schools after graduation. Minimum requirements to be considered for this scholarship include being a graduating senior from a WWPS high school, maintain a minimum high school GPA of 2.5, earn the Seal of Biliteracy, enroll full-time at a two or four-year college or university in the fall and have a desire to return and work for WWPS. Up to five, $1,500 scholarships will be awarded per year and are renewable once.

"Grow our Own" Bilingual Teacher Scholarships for Current Classified Employees:
This scholarship aims to assist current bilingual Walla Walla Public Schools classified staff who desire to become certificated employees in Walla Walla Public Schools. Up to five, $1,500 scholarships will be awarded per year and are renewable once.

This scholarship aims to assist current bilingual Walla Walla Public Schools certificated staff who desire to become administrators in Walla Walla Public Schools. Up to three, $1,500 scholarships will be awarded per year and are renewable once.
