Fund Run nets thousands for Blue Ridge playground project

This week, Blue Ridge Elementary students, staff, volunteers and parents participated in the first annual Blue Ridge Fund Run. Students secured sponsored donations for their run and raised more than $4,800 in less than a week to put toward the future purchase of playground equipment. Thanks to Physical Education Teacher Bryan Eggart for organizing the event. The newly formed Blue Ridge PTA providing staffing for the event and collected funds.

“We appreciate our local businesses for their kind donations of prizes for top earners,” said Principal Kim Doepker. “Our school community came together in support of this event and it will make a difference for all Blue Ridge students.”
