Garrison Middle School principal shares stories as a farm laborer
Garrison Middle School Principal Robert Elizondo was the keynote speaker at this year’s Children’s Home Society of Washington Sweethearts Luncheon fundraiser. Elizondo is one of nine siblings raised in a family of farm laborers. His father died when Robert was only seven-years-old leaving the family scrambling for support and leadership. Robert worked in agriculture fields for 17 during his childhood. Elizondo said he was fortunate to have caring educators support and inspire him throughout his school years. He has had nearly a 20 year career in education, mostly as an administrator, and holds two master’s degrees.
