Whitman Science Outreach program encourages learning

Sharpstein Elementary had a fabulous Science Night Dec. 4 thanks to a collaborative project with Whitman College. Whitman College is partnering with the local elementary schools to encourage the exploration of science. Each school has scheduled a Family Science Night where there are many fun filled science lessons to investigate.

“From floating a paper clip on water to designing and building a tower, we are having fun with science,” said Whitman Science Outreach Coordinator Heidi Chapin. “We are making ice cream, doing chemistry experiments, making fossils and exploring the properties of water.”

January 13 - Edison
January 29 - Prospect Point
March 4 - Davis
March 10 - Green Park
April 16 - Blue Ridge
