District meets State requirements for Emergency Preparedness

This week, Walla Walla Public Schools filed with the Washington State Sheriff’s Association indicating the district has met all of the annual Emergency Preparedness requirements detailed in RCW 28A.320.125. State law requires each school district and school to have emergency plans which include drills, safety training, interaction with first-responders and expertise in the Incident Command System. All reports are logged online via the Rapid Responder system. Walla Walla High School Resource Officer Scott Brashear, under the direction of Prospect Point Principal Chris Gardea, coordinates this effort.

“School safety is a top priority for the school district and we take this responsibility seriously,” said Superintendent Dr. Bill Jordan. “Thanks to our staff and Safe Schools team for their hard work to meet these important requirements.”
