Professional Learning

Welcome to Professional Learningt. Walla Walla Public Schools is committed to ensuring success for all students through high-quality professional learning opportunities. Our program is based on the belief that staff members are learners who continually improve their performance.

As stated in our 2011-2015 Strategic Plan, one of our four major district goals is to" "Provide a learning environment which meets the needs of individual learners, raises student achievement and educates the whole child." Using a comprehensive district professional development model, we have designed training and activities to support instructional staff and increase student achievement.

Our goal is to provide professional learning offerings that:

  1. Meet the individual needs of teachers.
  2. Minimize the impact on the instructional day.
  3. Support increased student achievement.

Instruction is most effective when teachers come together in whole or small groups and share common learning/experiences.

The Professional Learning section of the web site is designed to provide district personnel with an easy-to-use guide to professional learning courses and events. Please contact us in the Teachning and Learning Department, if you have any questions or concerns.
