FFA Agriculture Mechanics Shine

FFA Agriculture Mechanics teams shine at WWCC contest

Walla Walla High School students in the FFA Ag Mechanics program recently visited Walla Walla Community College to compete in challenging activities in five different program areas: welding, agriculture science, electrical, diesel and ag farm equipment (John Deere). The students measured and identified parts, completed two arc welds, wired a parallel circuit according to a schematic and completed a livestock record keeping scenario.

“Walla Walla Team 1 placed first in the contest. Quinton Grimes took first place individual, Rem McBride was second, Treyton Sams was third, and Kenny Gabel and Parker Morgan both placed in the top 20,” said Agriculture Education teacher Jessica Johnson. “Walla Walla Team 2 had a great day of learning and held their own in the tough competition - Breanna Sweeney, Hagen Taylor, Ben Stillman, Race Hubbard and Aaden Repoff. Amiria Cross and Braxton Walters were our team alternates and they also had a successful day.”
