Garrison students Mix It Up

Garrison Middle School students found themselves eating lunch and getting to know different students through the Sources of Strength Mix It Up activity. Students randomly selected a gumball during lunch handed out by Sources of Strength program student helpers. The students then sat at the table with the same color. Students asked each other questions through ice-breaker activities and talked about their personal interests. Many students commented on how much they had in common with the other students at their new table. The activity is aligned to a school-wide campaign to help students get out of their comfort zones to make friends and stay connected to their school. Sources of Strength is a suicide prevention program focused on helping students identify people in their lives they can turn to for strength when times get tough.
