SEA-TECH Project State Winner

SEA-TECH Tiny House wins state top award for creativity

Congratulations to SEA-TECH students in the Construction Technology program for receiving the “Most Creative Design” state award CTE Showcase of Skills Homeless Shelter Project in Olympia. Twenty-two teams of students representing high schools from across Washington competed in this contest to learn real-world, hands-on skills. Finished shelters were transported to Seattle where they will provide transitional homeless housing.

The SEA-TECH project featured a landscape mural featuring different climates and geographic areas. Local artist Brad Rude volunteered in support of the artwork and design. Special thanks to ProBuild and Gary’s Paint for donating building supplies for the project. Instructor Eric Matson advised the students throughout the build and competition.
