Wa-Hi bond falls short

Results from the April 22 Special Election are in and voters have rejected the $10.2 million bond proposal to build a new science building at Walla Walla High School. As of election night, 8243 ballots were counted with 52.17 percent voting in favor of the ballot measure falling short of the 60 percent supermajority requirement.  Superintendent Mick Miller thanked everyone for helping inform the community about the measure and said the district has more work to do.

Last year, voters turned down a $48 million bond proposal to modernize most of Walla Walla High School. The 2013 measure received a 54 percent Yes vote.

No decisions have been made regarding future bond measures.
