Walla Walla Music Program Update
We just had several students return from participating in this year’s Washington Music Educator’s All State Music Groups. These groups are audition only groups that draw students from all across the state of Washington. These students are truly some of the best student musicians in the state!

The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival is happening this week!
This is a pretty famous event that draws groups and artist from all over both in the United States & internationally (mostly artist). We are fortunate to have this festival in our back yard, and able to send all three jazz groups from Walla Walla! Garrison Middle School Jazz Band and Pioneer Middle School Jazz Band performed on Thursday and did extremely well! Walla Walla High School Jazz Band will perform on Saturday and I am confident that they will do outstanding!

Intelochen Arts Camp Student!
Hannah Cabasco, a Walla Walla High School Freshman, was just accepted into the Interlochen Arts Camp for the summer of 2014 as a clarinetist. Interlochen was founded in 1928 and is located on the northern end of Michigan. It draws young musicians from all 50 states and foreign countries each summer for a six (6) week term. Hannah will have the opportunity to collaborate with students that will become the next generations’ musical leaders around the world. She will also have the opportunity to hear world class artist as they come to perform at Interlochen in the summer. Past artist include Benny Goodman, Mstislav Rostropovich, Yo Yo Ma, Van Cliburn and its completion winners. Congratulations Hannah!
