Late morning freezing rain

Mother Nature takes her time to begin freezing rain
The district delayed school two hours this morning (Friday, Dec. 13) due to freezing rain. The rain did not begin until approximately 6 a.m. so a decision to delay came later than normal. In most cases, the district attempts to have a decision made by 5 a.m. and all messages out to staff, parents and the community by 6 a.m. Unfortunately, the weather was unpredictable this morning.

Also, the district’s web site crashed this morning due to heavy traffic. Despite the technical difficulties, the site was up and running with a delay message posted by 7 a.m. Computer experts from locally-based companies Viviotech and Walla Walla Web Weavers are working with the district to come up with a solution so this doesn’t happen again in the future. Thanks for your patience and support as we work through the winter months.
