Community Resources

This is just a small assortment of the resources available to our community. If you need more information or have a specific request please connect with your building's Intervention Specialist.

OWWL, short for One Walla Walla List, is intended to serve as a comprehensive directory for resources in the Walla Walla Valley. OWWL has maps, contact information, and descriptions of services for those seeking help and those who direct others to help. Users can choose to access in formation in English or Spanish. Bill Support

• BMAC: Energy Assistance programs help low-income households maintain power and heating, especially during the winter. They have additional funding in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding is available to new and past clients. If you've already received energy assistance this year, you may be eligible for additional funds.

• The Salvation Army: Project HELP is a nonprofit program providing energy assistance with donated funds.

• Walla Walla Housing Authority: Rental assistance programs. Smoke-free, voucher subsidized, multi-family housing units in scattered sites throughout Walla Walla. Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher. HUD-VASH rental assistance.

Housing

• BMAC: Homeless Services, Lead-based Paint Remediation, Minor Home Repair, Rental Housing, Supportive Services for Veteran Families, and Weatherization.

• BMAC Youth Navigators: Walla Walla County currently has a grant to end youth (ages 12-24) living in unstable, and/or unsafe housing or homeless. If you have a student who you feel would qualify please refer them to your Intervention Specialist. They can then help connect them to the right support. • Christian Aid Center: 30-day stay, clean and sober environment, two hot and hearty meals a day, hot showers and a laundry room.

• The Loft Shelter for Youth. Provides resources and shelter for youth ages 12-17. Call or text 24 hours a day at (509) 386-2074

• Walla Walla Housing Authority: They offer a variety of affordable housing options for families, disabled, and elderly, rental assistance programs.

• YWCA Safe Shelter: YWCA Walla Walla offers shelter to women and children escaping domestic violence. There are two shelters: the women’s residence, and the family shelter. Both are located in Walla Walla. Both shelters have family-style living, shared kitchens, shared bathrooms, and small rooms that adjoin if necessary to accommodate larger families.

Local Food Support

Anyone in need of food may access local pantries WITHOUT a food card at this time. May need to bring some form of ID.
