Emma Timm-Ballard to row for UW

Emma Timm-Ballard signed a Letter of Intent to row for the University of Washington. Emma’s parents are Charles and Dana Timm-Ballard.

“I'm thrilled that Emma and UW rowing found one another,” said Katharine Curles, Emma’s swim coach. “It is a great opportunity for her to continue her athletic career and continue contributing to a team. UW is so fortunate to have her.”

Curles said Emma is a joy to coach and to work with. She was a state finalist in backstroke and the 200 free all three years that she competed for us, Curles said.

Timm-Ballard was injured this year and unable to compete her senior year.  Even though her swimming career was over, she still took the time to come to the pool and be a part of her team, according to Curles.

“She taught many of our young athletes to swim backstroke and is now doing the same with our boys program,” said Curles. “Her dedication to her fellow Blue Devils is awesome and we are so grateful.”
