Students will travel to camp by school district bus.

Students will sleep in either a 10-person or 20-person cabin. Two or three high school counselors will sleep in the cabin with the students. (Teachers and other adults sleep separately in adult-only cabins.) The students will sleep in bunk beds in either sleeping bags or bedding from home.

Please raise these concerns with your student’s teacher or staff at your student’s school. We will work together to find the best solution for your child.

District staff will provide Camp Dudley with all special dietary needs for students. Camp Dudley is prepared to handle a variety of dietary issues. If you have a particular concern, please raise it with your student’s teacher and we will work to create a special plan for your student.

We can provide sleeping bags and cold-weather clothing for students who need them. Please make a note on your child’s permission slip if you would like to have items provided.

The Camp Dudley phone number (land line) is 509-907-5707. In an emergency, please call that number and camp staff will connect you with your child. Also, while there is little cell service at camp, school staff and teachers will have wi-fi access and will be in touch with your child’s school.

Because there is no phone reception and wi-fi access is not available to students at camp, we encourage students to leave their phones at home. Historically, Camp Dudley has found that students are better able to engage in camp when they don’t have a phone with them. If a student does bring a phone to camp, they’ll be directed to store it in a safe place in their cabin until they head home.
For students who want photos, rest assured that photos will be available after camp! Camp Dudley staff will share their photos back with your student’s school, as will teachers and school staff who take pictures. These will be available to students and families after camp. 

Because trained Wa-Hi students will serve as counselors during camp, parents and community volunteers are not needed as chaperones. School staff, licensed medical staff, and ACA-licensed camp staff will also be present at all times. If your student has special needs regarding camp, please share these with their classroom teacher.

There is no cost for this program. All costs are being paid for through a generous grant from Outdoor Schools WA, in partnership with the Walla Walla Public Schools Foundation.
