FFA students set to shine at the Fair
Next week (August 30-Sept. 3) Wa-Hi's Agriculture teachers team of Peggy Payne, Jenn Crane, Alyssa Drader and Jessica Johnson will be advising 47 students with animal projects at the fair.
“This annual event is the playoff/championship/title game for FFA members,” said Johnson. “All of these students have invested months of work into their projects as well as their own financial investment.”
The FFA advisors would like to invite the community to visit the animal barns and see the students.
“Anywhere you see a Walla Walla FFA banner or an FFA jacket with Walla Walla across the back, those are our students,” said Johnson. “Friday morning there will be a showing in every barn. This is a great time to see the students in action with all species showing at 9 a.m. Students who show animals have varying interests and talents. We have varsity athletes, AP and honors students, marching and jazz band members, JROTC members and more. The one commonality between them is they are FFA members who are enrolled in an Ag class and they enjoy the challenge of an animal project."
