As winter sports conclude their regular season and head into district and regional tournaments, it is an exciting time to be a Blue Devil fan.

WRESTLING - This weekend, the wrestling team has 13 boys competing at Juanita High School for Region IV 3A Wrestling Championships on Friday, February 10 and Saturday, February 11. Fans can track results at TrackwrestlingRegion4. Also competing in wrestling at Hanford High School on Saturday, February 11, are two athletes from the girls wrestling team. The girls may be tracked at Trackwrestling@Hanford. You may view the girls tournament at Hanford Live Stream. Spots in the WIAA Mat Classic, February 17 and 18 in Tacoma, are to be earned.

Boys wrestlers earned spots this weekend after competing in the MCC 3A Championships in Walla Walla, last Saturday. Two Blue Devils, Mateo Caso and Carter O’Dell earned MCC 3A league championships at the end of an exciting day that saw 146 matches in the Wa-Hi big gym.

BASKETBALL - In addition, the girls and boys basketball teams enter postseason play at home on Saturday, February 11. The District 8 MCC/GSL tournament begins with the girls hosting University High School at 5 p.m. and followed by the boys vs Mead High School at 7 p.m. Admission to playoff games are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors/students (K-12). All Walla Walla High School students with a valid school ID are admitted free of charge. Cash and check are accepted at the door. CHEER - Last weekend, the Blue Devil cheer squad traveled to Battleground High School to compete in the WIAA Cheer Championships. The Blue Devils were in a tight race with Auburn Mountainview and Juanita for the top spot. At the end of the competition, the Blue Devils returned to Walla Walla with at 3rd place trophy. Congratulations to our cheer team and coaches for an outstanding season.

SWIM & DIVE - Blue Devil boys swim and dive have had a successful season thus far. The boys shared the MCC swim and dive conference championship with Chiawana and Hanford. In late January, senior Zach Evans earned a spot in the 3A diving state championships with a qualifying score at the 11-dive competition in Moses Lake. Last weekend, the swimmers competed at Kelso High School in the District 4/8 championship meet. The boys came away with the District championship. The team will next compete in Federal Way, February 16-18, for the WIAA State Dive and Swim Championships.

BOWLING - Bowling concluded its season at the district tournament on January 23 at the Atomic Bowl in Richland.

DANCE - Dance will compete in Moses Lake, Saturday February 11, before heading to district competition in Pasco on March 11.
