Wa-Hi’s new Black Box theater completed
The original 1963 Walla Walla High School Music Building has seen big changes thanks to the successful 2018 bond election. The original band room has been transformed into a modern, Black Box theater to support the school’s drama program. The band pit was filled in to level off the floor for plays and other productions. This amazing facility features performance risers, specialized lighting on a grid and black curtains.
The choir room pit was also filled in to serve as a Green Room for drama productions. The modernized building also has restrooms, new storage areas, mirrors, acoustic panels and energy efficient heating and cooling systems. Staff and students started using this facility this spring.
