Going Green

District takes first step to going green with bus fleet

Walla Walla Public Schools received an award from the Department of Ecology for its "Air Quality Clean Diesel Electric School Bus Grant." The district applied and received funding for three electric buses and charging stations.

The district is waiting on final acceptance details and is expected to receive the buses by June 30, 2023. Walla Walla Public Schools has partnered with Columbia Rural Electric Association to provide power for the charging stations.
