New Pottery Classroom Dream Come True

Longtime Lincoln High School teacher Genie Huntemann transferred to Walla Walla High School this year to instruct the pottery class. Huntemann replaces veteran pottery teacher John Butenhoff who retired at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

Huntemann studied pottery in college and says this is her dream job. Her new role landed her in the all-new pottery classroom in the remodeled library building made possible following the successful 2018 bond election. The new pottery classroom features a kiln, modern ventilation system, 16 pottery wheels, heavy-duty storage racks and plenty of natural light. Huntemann is teaching five pottery classes and is all smiles as she begins her new role.
