Secure building procedures lifted

Friday, Nov. 30 - This morning Walla Walla High School and Prospect Point were operating in Secure Building Procedures for precautionary measures as police pursued a suspect on foot near south Wilbur and Kendall Road. The suspect has been apprehended and the schools are now operating on a normal schedule.

Everyone was safe throughout this situation. As part of the emergency procedures, security officers and maintenance personnel were stationed on the perimeter of the schools. Police were in contact with the school district throughout the situation. We’re proud of how our staff and students followed the established safety procedures to ensure everyone’s safety. School safety remains the district’s highest priority.
