As required by law, the board members are members of the Washington State School Directors' Association. Since the association establishes the rate of membership dues at its annual meeting, provides services in response to members' needs, and develops and implements a legislative program at the direction of its members, board members are encouraged to participate in the governance of the association. Board members are also encouraged to participate in the training sessions, conferences, and other activities of the association.
