Electronic Device Protection Plan

To ensure a comprehensive, engaging and accessible educational experience for all, Walla Walla Public Schools will be checking out district-provided Chromebooks to all students in grades 3 through high school (a limited number of devices are available for checkout for K-2 families upon request but an at-home device is not necessary). Additionally, depending on certain circumstances, students/families may also be issued Wi-Fi hotspots for connectivity, laptops for upper-level technical courses and specific devices for some unique student situations.

Walla Walla Public Schools has developed an extremely low-cost way for families to help protect themselves from potential costs associated with damage, loss or theft of district owned devices checked out to their student.

How It Works

Students/families will have the option to enroll in the Electronic Device Protection Plan program (EDPP) when technology is checked out to a student. Similar to how textbooks are handled, each device is individually barcoded and checked out each student utilizing our district’s digital inventory system. Some devices are returned at the conclusion of the school year, while others like Chromebooks may be checked out for longer durations (3-5 years). The low-cost EDPP fee is applied to you/your student’s account at the time of checkout and covers all items issued to them and prompt payment is necessary to ensure coverage. Please be advised that parents who choose not to sign up and pay for protection will be responsible for all costs resulting from damage, theft or other loss. The EDPP will cover students over their school tenure and is non-refundable.
