This is just a small assortment of the resources available to our community. If you need more information or have a specific request please connect with your building's Intervention Specialist.


 

OWWL, short for One Walla Walla List, is intended to serve as a comprehensive directory for resources in the Walla Walla Valley. OWWL has maps, contact information, and descriptions of services for those seeking help and those who direct others to help. Users can choose to access in formation in English or Spanish. Bill Support

  • BMAC: Energy Assistance programs help low-income households maintain power and heating, especially during the winter. They have additional funding in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding is available to new and past clients. If you've already received energy assistance this year, you may be eligible for additional funds.

  • The Salvation Army: Project HELP is a nonprofit program providing energy assistance with donated funds.

  • Walla Walla Housing Authority: Rental assistance programs. Smoke-free, voucher subsidized, multi-family housing units in scattered sites throughout Walla Walla. Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher. HUD-VASH rental assistance.

Housing

  • BMAC: Homeless Services, Lead-based Paint Remediation, Minor Home Repair, Rental Housing, Supportive Services for Veteran Families, and Weatherization.

  • BMAC Youth Navigators: Walla Walla County currently has a grant to end youth (ages 12-24) living in unstable, and/or unsafe housing or homeless. If you have a student who you feel would qualify please refer them to your Intervention Specialist. They can then help connect them to the right support.   • Christian Aid Center: 30-day stay, clean and sober environment, two hot and hearty meals a day, hot showers and a laundry room.

  • The Loft Shelter for Youth. Provides resources and shelter for youth ages 12-17. Call or text 24 hours a day at (509) 386-2074

  • Walla Walla Housing Authority: They offer a variety of affordable housing options for families, disabled, and elderly, rental assistance programs.

  • YWCA Safe Shelter: YWCA Walla Walla offers shelter to women and children escaping domestic violence. There are two shelters: the women’s residence, and the family shelter. Both are located in Walla Walla. Both shelters have family-style living, shared kitchens, shared bathrooms, and small rooms that adjoin if necessary to accommodate larger families.

Local Food Support

Anyone in need of food may access local pantries WITHOUT a food card at this time. May need to bring some form of ID.

  • Blue Mountain Action Council: No food card, appointment or documentation needed at this time. Locations in Walla Walla, Prescott, Dayton, Burbank and Touchet. Time and dates vary by location.

  • The Christian Aid Center: is providing three meals a day--breakfast, lunch and dinner to anyone in our community who is hungry. Donated food available at the same time as meals are served.

  • Pantry Shelf of Walla Walla: Located in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church. They are open Mondays, 3-6pm and Wednesday and Fridays from 1-3pm Fresh or canned fruits and vegetables, frozen products, other non-perishable items, and hygiene products.

  • Salvation Army of Walla Walla: is open and serving the community Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3:30 p.m. Anyone in need of food or assistance is welcome to come and get a food box.

Medical

  • SOS Health Services: SonBridge hosts the SOS Health Services Clinic, commonly called the SOS Clinic.
     

Additional Resources

  • Walla Walla Disability Network: As a sponsoring agency for Parent to Parent, Walla Walla Disability Network helps families from the birth of their child with a disability throughout their lifespan. They provide training, emotional support, resource referrals, disability awareness training, and social and recreational opportunities.

  • Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA): The Developmental Disabilities Administration is transforming lives by providing support and fostering partnerships that empower people to live the lives they want. Families can connect with DDA to get help for in-home, out-of-home, and community-based services.
