Superintendent Student Advisory Council
What is the Superintendent Student Advisory Council (SAC)?
The SAC is made up of 16 students, in grades 9-12, who currently attend Walla Walla High School, Lincoln High School, Opportunity Program or Walla Walla Online. The advisory council was developed to intentionally seek out and respond to the specific needs of Walla Walla Public Schools high school students. Now, more than ever, student voice at the district table is critical as we seek out ways to reimagine and improve our schools to better support students.
To ensure a broad representation of students who reflect the district’s diverse student body, student representatives from specific clubs/organizations (e.g. AVID, Blue Devil Strong, Friends of Wa-Hi, Girls’ League, Green Club, GSA, Latino Club, SSJ & others), a representative from the WaHi ASB executive council, in addition to students at large from all sites, are encouraged to apply. Students participating in SAC will work alongside Superintendent, Dr. Wade Smith, and other district leaders as they seek out ways to improve the school experience for students. Additionally, through their engagement, SAC participants develop leadership and policy making skills.
What are SAC's Primary Roles and What is the Commitment?
