CAN...
• Respond to questions about
the levy during work time by providing the facts.
• Hold information meetings
and present the facts about the levy.
• Encourage people to register
to vote and encourage them to vote on Election Day.
• Campaign for or against
the levy on your own time.
• Wear campaign buttons
at school and on your own time
• Display campaign materials
at your home or on your cars, speak before groups,
raise money...all on your own time.
• Make personal contributions
CAN NOT...
• Use district supplies,
equipment, or facilities to print, mail, e-mail,
distribute or otherwise produce materials for a
Vote Yes levy campaign.
• Use students to hand carry
Vote Yes levy campaign materials home to parents.
• Display campaign materials
in or on district vehicles, in district publications,
or at school district facilities.
How can district employees
respond to questions from patrons about the levy
on work time?
District staff may provide facts about the levy
measure and answer basic questions in an objective
manner. If a patron needs further information, refer
him/her to the Communications Department at 526-6716.
What if a patron asks
you, “How should I vote,” during work
time?
Respond: “I cannot tell you how to vote, but
information about the proposal may be obtained by
calling the Communications Department at 526-6716
or visiting the district’s web site at: www.wwps.org
Can school district
staff members participate in the levy campaign?
Yes, on their own time.
Can school district
staff members use district computers or e-mail services
to communicate about the levy “Vote Yes”
campaign?
No, district staff should use their personal computers
and personal e-mail services if they want to communicate
with others about the levy “Vote Yes”
campaign. District computers and e-mail services
may only be used to communicate the facts about
the levy proposition.
