Welcome to Professional Development. Walla Walla Public Schools is committed to ensuring success for all students through high-quality professional development opportunities. Our program is based on the belief that staff members are learners who continually improve their performance.
As stated in our 2005-2010 Strategic Plan, one of our three major district goals is to "develop a 21st century learning community that supports continuous learning through relevant and aligned curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional development." Using a comprehensive district professional development model, we have designed training and activities to support instructional staff and increase student achievement.
Our goal is to provide professional development offerings that:
- Meet the individual needs of teachers.
- Minimize the impact on the instructional day.
- Support increased student achievement.
Instruction is most effective when teachers come together in whole or small groups and share common learning/experiences.
