Homelink is a Parent Partnership
program with approximately 85 students in grades
K-8. Students attend classes on campus two days
per week for a maximum of 9 hours and access off
campus classes through partnership with parents
and teacher consultants for the remaining required
hours.
Each student’s parent is partnered with one
of the Homelink consultants to create a Students
Learning Plan based on the Washington State Essential
Academic Requirements and the Walla Walla School
District curriculum. Parents meet six times per
year with their consultant to make sure that their
student is making progress towards achieving the
goals set forth in their Student Learning Plan.

Homelink has a library set up
next to the Homelink office in the modular building.
It is open to all Homelink students.
We carry a wide variety of books and books on tape.
All books are organized and labeled according to
reading level.
Classes are held four days a
week, Monday through Thursday. Most students attend
two days a week, choosing either the Monday/Wednesday
or Tuesday/Thursday strand of classes. The school
day begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m. Homelink
follows the school district’s schedule of
holidays and always follows weather cancellations.
| Family Curriculum Stipend: |
One aspect of partnering with
Homelink is that each student is given a yearly
stipend (half of the amount in September and half
again in January) to purchase curriculum that supports
their student learning plan. These can be non-consumable
and consumable (workbooks) educational materials.
One of the unique aspects of
Homelink is that we have a curriculum library available
to families. This is stocked with materials and
curriculum families order each year for their own
use. At the end of each school year, families turn
in the curriculum supplies they ordered and these
are then made available to check out to other families
in Homelink.
Homelink requires students in
the program to take the Washington Assessment of
Student Learning (WASL) at grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,
& 8. The program also offers the computerized
version of MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) to
gauge academic progress. Homelink also offers various
assessment tests for math and reading skills.
