Veterans Day Holiday

There is no school Monday, November 12 in observance of Veterans Day.

Wa-Hi JROTC plans Veterans Day Assembly
The Walla Walla High School JROTC 2018-2019 “Blue Devils” Cadet Battalion and the Associated Student Bodies will host an assembly to honor veterans on Friday, Nov. 9 in the Main Gym.

The ASB and Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadets have an extensive ceremony planned which includes: a fallen comrades ceremony, a distinguished guest speaker, and a meet-and-greet, as well as other activities. Veterans from all branches... Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, all their components-active, reserve, guard, and retired will be recognized for their service to the United States of America.

Veterans and their guests are invited to arrive at 9 a.m. The official ceremonies will begin at 9:20. Special parking has been arranged and assistance will be available for those with limited mobility between the small gym and the tennis courts. There will be coffee before the event and light refreshments provided immediately following the assembly.

This event is free and open to veterans, their families, survivors, friends of veterans, and the general public. Everyone is welcome.

Blue Devil Cadets and ASB leaders welcome opportunities for interviews to visit with print and broadcast media outlets in advance of the event, or following conclusion of ceremonies on the day of event.
