Arbor Day Celebration

City of Walla Walla Mayor Barbara Clark, WWPS School Board Member Sam Wells and Superintendent Wade Smith help Berney Elementary students plant a maple tree on their campus as part of the annual city Arbor Day Celebration. 

The City of Walla Walla's Parks, Recreation and Urban Forestry Advisory Board sponsors the annual tree planting program. Students learn the importance of the city's urban forest and how trees improve our quality of life. 

Students also received saplings to take home and plant. School Board Member Sam Wells also received an award from the city for his efforts to protect and renew the urban forest through his involvement in the Walla Walla Rotary's tree planting program.

Thanks to the City of Walla Walla for its support of this long-standing Arbor Day program.
