Wa-Hi Every 15 Minutes program earns county award

Congratulations to the Walla Walla High School Every 15 Minutes program for receiving the Youth Initiative award at the Walla Walla County Traffic Safety/DUI Task Force annual awards luncheon Tuesday at the Masonic Center. Wa-Hi Every 15 Minutes Committee is part of the school’s Leadership Class under the guidance of teacher Arch McHie.

Senior Kiran Maini has chaired the program the past three years. This year marks the 21st year the Every 15 Minutes Program has been in place at Wa-Hi educating seniors on the dangers of drinking and driving. The student committee promotes the program by email messages to each senior, promotional videos for Wake Up Wa-Hi, posters and social media. The message is clear to students -- never ever drink and drive. Wa-Hi’s 2018 program is March 15 and 16.
