Walla Walla Public Schools and several partners, including officials from the City of Walla Walla, celebrated the new Green Park Elementary Bus Loop with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Principal Gina Yonts welcomed guests and reported how the new bus loop will improve student safety and parent drop-off and pick up efficiency.
Superintendent Wade Smith addressed how the partnership with the City of Walla Walla’s Isaacs Ave project helped reduce costs and improve project efficiency since contractors were already on site and the street was under construction. The $132,000 project would have cost significantly more according to Superintendent Smith without the city's involvement. The new bus lane will open for use Wednesday, Nov. 8.
