Governor Inslee visits Sharpstein Elementary
Governor Jay Inslee visited Sharpstein Elementary Thursday morning to meet with local educators about ample funding for the state’s K-12 schools. He also toured the school and was briefed on programs offered at Sharpstein. The visit was part of a two-day education tour with educators, parents and students this week in King County, Southwest Washington, Spokane and Walla Walla.
Governor Inslee highlighted the additional services and programs schools could provide if legislators adopt a budget with ample funding for the state’s K-12 schools. He said the state must invest above the bare minimum required by the state court. Governor Inslee has visited numerous schools during the past year to urge lawmakers to amply fund education, including a statewide back-to-school tour last fall.
