Sharpstein students celebrate Arbor Day

Thanks to the City of Walla Walla Parks and Recreation Department & Urban Forestry Advisory Board for sponsoring a fun and informative Arbor Day Celebration at Sharpstein Elementary. Mayor Allen Pomraning and Parks and Recreation Director Andy Coleman hosted the event. Students shared poems and artwork they created about trees.

Students planted a dogwood tree on Howard Street to add to the more than 14,000 trees in Walla Walla. This collaborative partnership event has existed for more than 20 years with the city and school district. Students also took home saplings to plant are part of the experience.
