Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodger discusses special education

U.S. Representative for Washington's 5th congressional district Cathy McMorris Rodgers visited Walla Walla Public Schools Wednesday to discuss Special Education programs and issues related to students with special needs.

McMorris Rodgers, currently the highest ranking Republican woman in Congress serving as the Chair of the House, has a son with Down Syndrome. She says she understands personally the need for quality special education programs and support for families with special needs children. She said early interventions and a strong K-12 public education system are critical. The focus of her visit in Walla Walla was to discuss ways people with special needs can find employment.
