AP History students visit Fort Walla Walla Museum

Advanced Placement students visit Fort Walla Walla Museum
Juniors in Advanced Placement (AP) History classes at Walla Walla High School visited the Fort Walla Walla Museum to enhance their learning. The students spent the day at the museum looking at exhibits and listening to museum staff about local history. The students are enrolled in Anne Bickelhaupt and Keith Michels’ classes. Wa-Hi Library-Media Specialist Ben Ugaldea also was present to support the activity.

These students recently completed the national Advanced Placement exam. Bickelhaupt, who serves as the school’s Social Studies Department Head, says the field trip was also a chance to celebrate taking the AP test.

“We’ve done so much work over the year studying different eras of history and coming to Fort Walla Walla Museum was a great way to see how history is applied,” Bickelhaupt said. “This is an excellent opportunity for students to see a piece of local history.”
