Water tests (no health concerns)

Tests reveal no health concerns with water at Walla Walla Public Schools

Walla Walla Public Schools received good news this week from Walla Walla Regional Water Testing Services as the drinking water samples collected May 2, 2016 at all schools do not have lead levels exceeding Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. Walla Walla Public Schools receives its drinking water from a public water system and is therefore not required to test its water based on the Washington Administrative Code WAC 246-366A. However, due to recent concerns around our state and the nation pertaining to drinking water, Walla Walla Public Schools voluntarily completed the tests.

“We are thrilled by these results and plan to do additional testing of more water sources at all our schools to ensure they are safe as well,” said Superintendent Dr. Bill Jordan. “It is our paramount duty to provide a safe learning environment and we take this charge seriously.”

Walla Walla Public Schools is funding the water testing program with district funds. There is no state funding available for water testing services.
