Board of Directors to accept applications to fill vacant seat

The Board of Directors will begin accepting applications Friday, August 2 to fill Max Carrera’s vacant position on the school board. Carrera is resigning from the school board August 1.

The Board of Directors will appoint a new school board member to fill the remainder of Carrera’s term through November 2015.

School Board Application Process
August 2-16
• Applications will be accepted Friday, August 2 to Friday, August 16, 4 p.m. Application forms will be available on the district website (www.wwps.org) or at the district office (364 S. Park St.).

August 20
• Executive session at 3 p.m. prior to regular board meeting to screen applications
• Regular board meeting at 4 p.m. and Board of Directors will announce finalists

*August 27
• Special board meeting/9:30 a.m. to noon (*tentative) to interview finalists and select new board member

September 3
• Regular board meeting/6:30 p.m. - New board member sworn in to fill the remainder of the term through November 2015
