Area law enforcement officers allowed access to school security cameras

Walla Walla Public Schools has teamed with Walla Walla Electric to provide area law officers access to school security cameras. This access was granted to improve crisis management procedures and emergency response efforts.

Walla Walla Electric, in collaboration with the district Technology Department, created a virtual "Master Server" for law enforcement access. Walla Walla Electric is also organizing training sessions for law enforcement officers. This training will be completed prior to the start of the 2013-2014 school year.

“We rely heavily on law enforcement officers to help keep our schools safe,” Superintendent Mick Miller said. “Access to this technology provides law enforcement officers with another tool to use during emergency situations. School safety is a top priority for the school district and in today’s world we need to maximize our partnerships to keep everyone safe.”
