Asparagus - May Harvest of the Month
On Friday, May 24, as part of the Farm-to-School program, district Nutrition Services in all schools will be serving oven roasted asparagus, locally grown by Locati Farms. Lincoln High School will be participating Thursday, May 23.
“Every student will have the opportunity to taste asparagus and vote their opinion at a tasting table in the cafeteria,” said Beth Thiel, district Farm-to-School coordinator. “Staff and students will also receive fact sheets about asparagus in an effort to inform them about local agriculture and to encourage everyone to eat delicious, seasonal, nutritious foods for good health.”
