Zahl elected to State FFA officer position
Walla Walla High School senior Andy Zahl was elected to serve on the 2013-2014 Washington State Future Farmers of America state officer team. Zahl, son of Jerry and Kathy Zahl, will serve as an ambassador for Washington agriculture and promote Future Farmers of America programs and issues.

He will also be a member of the Washington FFA Executive Board and attend legislative functions to enhance awareness of Agriculture Education.

“I am looking forward to my year of service to an organization that has helped me become who I am”, said Zahl after being elected.

The process for state officer candidates was a busy three days of knowledge exams, writing prompts, group and individual interviews as well as speeches, according to FFA Advisor Jessica Johnson.

“Andy has been an active member of the Walla Walla FFA since his sophomore year,” Johnson said. “During his time as a member he has served as a chapter and district officer, participated as a chapter delegate and courtesy corps member at State Convention, raised a market lamb and owned an APHA mare for his Supervised Agriculture Experience project.”
