Walla Walla High School Spring Sports Post Season Update (week of May 6, 2013)

Here is an update on the post-season progress of our spring sports teams:

Baseball
Baseball secured the MCC #2 seed on Saturday with a win over Pasco. They lost the Championship game to Richland who will have the #1 seed. On Saturday, May 11 at 10 AM at the Richland HS field we will play the #2 seed from the GSL in a loser out game. If win that game, at 4 PM we will play the loser of the GSL #1 vs. Richland game for the second seed to round one the State Tournament. The winner of the Richland vs. GSL # 1 contest will be the first seed to the State tournament.
Admission is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students w/ASB and seniors.

Soccer
Our Boys Soccer team lost the District Championship game to Richland on Saturday and will be the MCC #2 to Regionals. We will host Lewis and Clark from the GSL on Tuesday (5-7) at 6:00 PM. This game will be at the Whitman College varsity soccer field located off Sumach Street next to DeSales. Admission is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students w/ASB and seniors—school and local passes are not accepted for Regional contests.

Softball
Softball secured a second place finish in the MCC with a pair of victories over Hanford on Friday. This also gave them the #2 seed in the District tournament and a first round bye. Walla Walla will host the MCC District Softball tournament at Murr Sports Park on Saturday May 11. In the first game at 11 AM Wa-Hi will play the winner of the Pasco vs. Chiawana game (played on Thursday in Pasco) in a loser out contest. The winner of this game will play Richland at 1 PM for the District Championship and the #1 seed to the Regional tournament, the loser will be the #2 seed. The Regional tournament will be Saturday, May 18 in Richland. This is a YVIAA District 5 contest and the Admission is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students w/ASB’s and seniors, this admission is good for both contests. Local passes are not accepted.

Track
The District track meet will be Saturday, May 11 at Richland HS. The meet will start at 10:00 AM. This is the qualifying meet for advancement to the Regional meet held at Spokane Falls C.C. on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18. Admission for the Regional meet in Richland is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students w/ASB’s and seniors. Admission is good for all day.

Tennis
The District tennis tournament will be Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 in Pasco. Start times are 1:00 PM on Friday and 10:00 AM on Saturday.

Golf
The Girls and Boys District Golf tournament will be Monday, May 13 and Tuesday May 14. Monday the girls will play at Vets Memorial in Walla Walla starting at 9:00 AM and the boys will be at Horn Rapids in Richland starting at 1:00 PM. On Tuesday those girls and boys that make the cut will all be at Sun Willows in Pasco with play starting at 2:30 PM.
