Wa-Hi Bond proposal fails

The bond proposal to modernize Walla Walla High School failed by receiving a 53.30 percent Yes vote during the Feb. 12 Special Election. This mark failed to meet the required 60 percent Supermajority for approval.

Proposition No. 1 Walla Walla High School Dist. 140:
Approved: 5,056 = 53.30 percent
Rejected: 4,430 = 46.70 percent

Superintendent Mick Miller thanked the staff, parents, students and community volunteers for helping inform the community about the proposal. Special thanks to community volunteers Craig Sievertsen and Shannon Bergevin for all their hard work and effort Co-Chairing the Citizens for Schools Committee.

No decisions have been made regarding future bond proposals.
